What a vivid parallel you’ve made here! I agree: When it is too noisy in my regular life, my song is pushed to the side until later. I want my singing to be constant, regardless of light, danger, or noise.

Hmm… by Highschool I was the “Rockstar” that was at least semi-popular with every click, but in early High School/Jr. High I was the suicidal weirdo who had like 2 friends.

I think the simple answer to high profile pastors like Haggard is that the more influence you have (both for the gosple and in the community) the bigger target you have on your back.

What if this has always been God’s move, ever since Jesus? The poor didn’t just appear this decade. The poor, oppressed, and broken, have been there across the ocean for more than just this decade. What if the things that are happening in the world are finally horrific enough for us to see the truth of conditions besides Americans. The state of the world has been growing more violent and the numbers of the hungry and oppressed are rising. Why do you think we are just seeing it now? I pray more and more people’s eyes will be opened to the people who need our help and see that this isn’t just a phase God is going through, liberating the oppressed. And it’s something that will change the world. Think about them, the people across the ocean. They are our brothers and sisters and if you dont think of them and speak of them, who will?

J.M.- Thanks for stopping by my page. I’m glad to hear that you were not a “scary loner”. I agree, that could have been pretty fun though.
I really do not have a desire to attend my own high school reunion either!
