Worship part 2

October 21, 2007 at 5:07 pm (dancing, graves, women, worship)

So, the women’s conference went well. We did not know what to expect at all. My friends (Cyle and Kim) and I go to a non denominational church and two of us were raised Charismatic….this conference had women from Methodist, Baptist and Episcopalian. We had prayed fervently that God would make Himself known despite any denominational differences and He so did.

The worship time was sweet. Our song list was short since we were not sure what songs would be known by all or at least easy to pick up. A few of the songs we did:

The Joy of the Lord-rita springer

I could sing of His Love forever

Amazed-jared anderson

All who are thirsty

O Taste and see- brian and Jenn Johnson

Where the Spirit of the Lord is

It was so cool to watch as the women gradually began to get “free” to worship in ways that may have been out of the ordinary for them. To see tears and smiles is a beautiful sign that God is in the room. Particularly when we sang the Rita Springer song, the last part of the song says: It’s time I started dancing over all these graves, It’s time I give my lord the highest Praise. Cyle, began to share that those graves in our lives are the places that seem dead, those wounds from the past, those things that keep us bound up… it’s time to begin dancing over them and thanking God for the life that He brings to the dead parts of us. Needless to say, there were many tears and much worship!

Thanks for praying friends!!

You SOOOOO didn’t steal “my” page – that is funny! I really like this look – but of course I’m partial to other – so you know my choice ;)

The other has a more youthful (which I am always trying to capture in my old age, ha!) and colorful look to it. This one is more put together and classic looking.

I say switch at your leisure depending on how you’re feeling that day…You’re a woman – you have that right! :)
